Gorrick TrailTrax 2017 Rd 2

Gorrick have been running their popular pub based MTB orienteering events for several years. Called TrailTrax, they have a loyal following of riders all ages including families, but are equally accessible and fun for new riders too. They’re run to Gorrick’s usual high standards, with the emphasis on a well organised, enjoyable rider experience. These events are sponsored by Mountain Trax of Wokingham and there’ll be prize presentations for a variety of categories at each one.

This year there’ll be 2 events:
SUNDAY 2 April - HQ at ‘The Barley Mow’ pub, Tilford, Surrey, GU10 2BU.
SUNDAY 11 June – HQ at ‘The Flower Pots’ pub, Cheriton, Hants, SO24 0QQ.

THE AIM OF A TRAILTRAX EVENT is to plan your own route (*SEE BELOW) then navigate and cycle to as many checkpoints as possible in either 2 or 3 hours collecting as many points as possible. If you do well there are many prizes to be won, although some riders just enjoy riding around to a few checkpoints whilst enjoying the scenery. Whatever you do, you can enjoy some excellent off road cycling on a Sunday morning and then finish for food, drink, friendly chat and the prize giving in a great pub.

*All entrants receive a waterproof Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 map extract with the checkpoints already marked on it, a sheet giving descriptions of the checkpoint locations and a check card for punching which gives the checkpoint values. Route planning is the key skill, you don’t need to be an expert map reader!
Registration is open from 8.30am and Start Times are from 8.45 to 10.15 for the 3 hour event and from 10 to 11 am for the 2 hour schedule. The Prize Giving is at 1.30.
