A second annual round-the-clock mountain bike endurance race is being organised by the Hospice of the Valleys in September.
The Dusky Valleys 12 event will take place at Tredegar's Parc Bryn Bach. More than 70 mountain bike enthusiasts took part in last year's race.
Together with the park, the hospice is organising this year's event to start at 8pm on Saturday, September 3rd and continue until 8am the following day.
The route will take cyclists on an 8km circuit around the 340-acre country park and its lake, with a mixture of road and forest trail, and flat and hilly terrain.
Event Entry
Entries from solo riders, pairs and teams of four - with male, female and mixed categories available - are invited and the challenge will be professionally timed.
The cost is £35 for solo riders, £30 per person for pairs, and £25 per person for teams.
There will also be free goody bags and T-shirts for all entrants and trophies for the winners.
Anyone who wants to enter the endurance ride, should contact the hospice offices on 01495 712937 for an entry form, or download them from the fundraising section of the hospice website on www.hospiceofthevalleys.com or Enter online here
The park frequently hosts major sporting events and the hospice already organises a successful 10k race and 5k fun run at the park each year, raising around £10,000 annually.
The Hospice of the Valleys is a charity that provides care for patients suffering from life-limiting illnesses in Blaenau Gwent and support for their families, costing almost £1 million a year to run.
